To most people music is simply a hobby but in Valarie’s life, it holds her future. Although surrounded by music her whole life, her journey really started at the age of 10 when people noticed that she would always sing in class to try and remember her work. One day for a friend’s birthday she was put to sing in front the class and from there, for every school function, she was the headliner.
As she progressed through primary and secondary school she eventually joined a parang band known as Sensation at 16 years old and kept performing, joining another band in January 2011 called Mayaro the Band. This band opened so many doors as she performed in restaurants, bars, weddings, birthdays, company events, Tobago Jazz festival and Anchorage Pop Awards 2011
Valarie continues to explore many other avenues to develop and showcase her craft. Over the last year, she has been playing in a variety of shows, learning more about music and performance, expanding her vocal range and
song writing skills.
