Owner/Founder, Mr. Marlon George has become one of Trinidad & Tobago’s premier menswear fashion designers both locally and internationally. Established in 2003, his brand Daww Creations Ltd., offers urban couture apparel, fused with contemporary and Caribbean design.
Marlon credits his eye for fashion and design to the influence of his deceased mother Janet Kernahan, who was a seamstress by profession. Under her guidance, Marlon would learn the fundamentals of cutting and stitching. This foundation would be complemented by formal training in tailoring at school, and years of working as a cutter, tailor, and designer for other companies.
After many years in the apparel industry and an entrepreneur spirit, he decided to set off his own fashion brand, Daww Creations. D.A..W.W. (pronounced “daaahw”) means “Distinguished Attitude When Wearing”, which provides ‘commercially-tailored’ and bespoke garments to many clients.
His brand has been featured in several fashion shows; at Barbados Fashion Week, PLITZ New York City Fashion Week, Miami Fashion Week, Leve’ Tobago and many others.
His aesthetic has also caught the eyes of even numerous local soca artistes; Super Blue, Iwer George, Chucky Gordon, Roy Cape, Mr. Killa including Soca King and Monk himself, Machel Montano for his 2015 ‘Like Ah Boss’ music video, in providing Montano with his militant designs.
As a cultural artisan, he has worked alongside Mr. Brian Mac Farlane for the Summit of the Americans and his Carnival contributions over the years. He’s also has a solid background as a performer/director of the Mt Dor Cultural Performers Company.
Mr. George is not only praised for his work locally but he is internationally educated as a Master Tailor, graduating with Honours by the Savile Row Academy, London, UK; directed by world-class Master Tailor, Trinidadian-born Mr. Andrew M. Ramroop. Who holds several prestigious international awards and whose work is honored and respected in many countries, worldwide.
Recently due to overwhelming requests, the Daww brand has expanded and is now also located at Chic Hotel, #16 – 17 Mt. Pleasant Boulevard, Bon Accord, Crown Point, Tobago.
As he seeks to raise the standard of the local industry in the Caribbean, he continues to make strides in developing innovated designs, quality apparel and the overall improvement of the customer experience.
