Team OMG met up with Nomcebo Zikode, singer of the mega-global hit Jerusalema, at the BRIX Hotel in Cascade. IS Promo and Gemini Production have contracted the South African superstar to perform at their events. Her intention is to perform in Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival 2023.
Zikode’s Jerusalema has received nearly one billion views on YouTube since its release in 2021 and has spawned a line dance craze worldwide. This singer/songwriter will also collaborate with local soca artists on soca/Afrobeat-infused tracks to be released for the 2023 Carnival season.
Zikode and Ivory Coast vocalist Elody Amondji are also scheduled to collaborate with composer and producer Ian Wiltshire, who wrote David Rudder’s Trini 2 The Bone. Also joining the creative team is young singer, composer and producer Mical Teja. The release said Zikode is also expected to begin the creative process for her soca/Afrobeat collaborations in early July.
