Caribbean entertainment is about to take centre stage in a way the world has never seen before. The Promoters, a groundbreaking reality docu-series, is set for its highly anticipated debut in the first quarter of 2026 — and it promises to tell the untold story of the men who turned Caribbean and urban music promotion into a global cultural movement.
This first-of-its-kind series highlights five of the biggest names in the game: DJ Private Ryan (Ryan Alexander), Jay Upscale (Jermaine Magras), Platinum Kids (Hans Mullings & Desmond Gavin), and Top Tier Management Group (Hector Carter & Omar Stephenson). More than just star players, these promoters are also executive producers, ensuring the story is told with raw authenticity.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jamal Hill (Brotherly Love, Deuces) and produced by powerhouse Janelle Abraham (Caribbean Music Awards 2025, Dope Fiend), The Promoters is packed with high-energy storytelling, behind-the-scenes drama, and never-before-seen access into the billion-dollar world of event promotion.
“Promoters are the unsung architects of culture,” says Abraham. “They built movements, created opportunities, and shaped generations. This series honours their legacy while showing audiences just how much vision, risk, and sacrifice go into building the experiences we celebrate today.”
Jamal Hill describes the project as “a breath of fresh air in the reality TV space,” while executive producers Carter and Stephenson stress that this isn’t just entertainment: “It’s a testament to those who built something out of nothing — their struggles, their triumphs, their legacy.”
The excitement has already begun, with four of the five featured promoters hitting the red carpet at the Caribbean Music Awards in New York City as part of their pre-release engagement strategy. With multiple network discussions currently underway, The Promoters is slated to premiere in early 2026.
This is more than a docu-series. This is Caribbean culture on the big screen.
